The Details
You won’t find many events of this kind anywhere. Firstly, it spans over 10 days, from Aug. 4 through Aug. 14. It will happen each day at Red Rock Park in Gallup. The festival is celebrating its 100th year. Thus, expect a festive atmosphere like never before.
The 4th Through the 7th
The celebration begins at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 4 with the Thursday night parade in Gallup. The parade rings in the festivities and showcases Native American culture and the many tribes of the area. The following day, the gates open at 1 p.m. Check out the artisan market and see what incredible displayed works are available for sale. Food vendors will be on hand with Native American food and other delicious dishes. The Four Winds Performance Stage will feature music and dances. There is also a ceremonial Queen and Tribal Royalty Meet & Greet. Later that day, experience the tribal procession.
The 7th Through the 9th
The fun continues on Aug. 7 with the rodeo at Red Rock Park. There is also a Little Miss Ceremonial Pageant on Aug. 8 at 2 p.m. This event at the El Morro Theatre is free. Furthermore, the Ceremonial Queen Dinner and Silent Auction will happen at 6 p.m. on Aug. 9. There is also a public speaking competition.

The 10th Through the 14th
There are plenty of other events in store during the final five days of the spectacle. For example, the Traditional Talent Showcase & Crowning is at 7 p.m. on Aug. 10. There is also a juried art show and win gala from 6 to 10 p.m. on Aug. 10. Moreover, the rodeo continues Aug. 11 and 12. You won’t want to miss the powwow on Aug. 12 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. A Native American dance performance will also thrill audiences on Aug. 12. Don’t forget about the Native Film Series at 7 p.m. at the El Morro Theatre on the 12th. There is more rodeo fun on the 13th and 14th. The events conclude with a Saturday morning parade on Aug. 13 at 9 a.m.
