Sandia Golf Club, Albuquerque, NM

If you’re planning a day or weekend trip to Alberquerque, make sure that a tee time Sandia Golf Club is on your agenda. The campus is run by the Pueblo of Sandia Tribe as part of the Sandai Resort. It was designed by Scott Miller and opened in 2005, featuring challenging holes and just four water hazards due to its high desert setting. University of New Mexico Golf Courses, Albuquerque, NM

While you’re in town, grab a tee time at one or both of the University’s premier golf courses. The Championship Course officially opened in 1967 and is regularly recognized as one of the best university courses in the country. It has been the host course for five men’s and women’s NCAA championships since 1950.

The University is also home to the North Course, which was built in 1942 and originally featured 27 holes as the first course in America to break the 7,000-yard barrier at an astounding 7,300 yards. It hosted Albuquerque’s first professional tournament in 1947 and the 1950 NCAA championship on what later became the Championship course.

Cochiti Golf Club, Chochiti Lake, NM

The Cochiti Golf Club is a Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed public golf course that offers 18 stunning holes just outside of Santa Fe. It sits in the foothills of the Jemez Mountains and is often described as “heaven with a zip code” by locals and visitors alike. When your round is finished, grab a bite at the onsite restaurant and enjoy the stunning views that surround the campus.
